Welcome to Oropi Playgroup

Oropi Playgroup is held in its own rooms at the back of the Oropi Memorial Hall, a few hundred metres down the road from Oropi School. The playgroup welcomes parents and caregivers for under fives and has it’s own paid supervisor, Brenda Kitchingman.

Oropi Playgroup is a co-operative community resource for parents and children.  We encourage the whole family to participate in, enjoy and support our childrens’ learning.  We seek to provide stimulating activities for the children that cater to all of their developmental needs.

During wet weather, sessions are held in the hall, otherwise the fully fenced grassed area behind the Hall is the wonderful playground for children. There is a large sandpit, swings and adventure playground. The new entrants from Oropi School visits the playgroup once a term, where they feel like big fish once more. It is a wonderful way for local parents and children to get to know each other before school starts and many long term friendships have been forged here.

Currently Playgroup has 2 morning sessions on Tuesday and Thursday 9.00 – 12.00pm.
First three sessions are free so come and see if playgroup is right for you and your kids.
